I’ve never used the word ‘swoon’ before, but as I considered how to describe Dara and Charlie’s wedding at the Richards-Hart Estate in Wheat Ridge ‘swoon’ is the word that stuck. It’s how I feel when I look at these photographs and it’s what my heart did as I witnessed these two commit their lives to one another.
It’s always a thrill to walk down the magazine aisle at my local bookstore or past the magazine rack at my grocery store down the street and see my clients’ beautiful weddings on display on newsstands there – and now it’s just happened for the 18th time! Of course I must confess to a bit of pride as well in seeing my photography work published in vibrant color too – thereby providing visual inspiration for all the brides and grooms-to-be! And 18 times… I feel honored. Back when I was first starting out in 2006 I wasn’t sure that it would ever happen, but check out this stack!!
Vanessa and Steve’s Denver Cable Center Wedding was a whole lotta fun! The bridesmaids and the groomsmen were as laid back and goofy as could be, all the family in attendance were the same, and Vanessa and Steve were enjoying every second of it – which is the way a wedding day should be! Like that moment when the maid-of-honor and the best man did ‘rock, paper, scissors’ best out of three to see
There’s a little place up in Morrison, Colorado that holds a special place in Vanessa and Steve’s hearts, so we were determined to get these Red Rocks engagement photos! When we looked at the summer concert calendar there was only one evening open this whole summer – and of course a storm and tornado hit that night! It looked like it wasn’t meant to be, but then Nickelback cancelled their concert and so our second date was set. Of course, when we got there, the movie ‘Jaws’ was screening (rescheduled from yet another rain out). Fortunately, Red Rocks features many trails and rock formations which we were able to explore to our hearts content.
As I like to say, I specialize in serving kindhearted couples at their elegant weddings with vibrant, in-the-moment photography. Well, the Sebastian Vail wedding of Caroline and John had elegance and vibrance in spades, and so many wonderful moments it’s hard to know where to begin. I suppose though that I should begin with our kindhearted couple, Caroline and John.
A couple of years ago I had the pleasure of photographing Jordan and Spencer’s wedding at the Omni Interlocken Resort. And now I just had the extra pleasure of photographing Jordan’s sister’s Denver wedding at the Brown Palace. You may remember the happy couple, Morgan and Ben, from their Denver engagement session I posted here 9 months ago. They looked great then and they looked even better in a black tux and wedding gown! 🙂
As I walked around Beaver Creek, down riverside trails and up mountain slopes, I took a few deep breaths and thought to myself ‘This is LIFE! I should get up here more often!’ I’m sure I wasn’t the only one thinking such things as friends and family gathered for Deirdre and DJ’s Beano’s Cabin Wedding. That cool, fresh mountain air and being surrounded by such majestic beauty is enough to make anyone consider a permanent change of address.
Here it is – the biggest blog post I’ve ever done! There are so many beautiful images here from Kena and Will’s wedding in Pueblo Colorado that I have to share with you. From the first Pooja ceremony to the yellow turmeric face painting of the Pithi. From the Friday night Sangeet to early Saturday morning when Kena and Will shared a first look at the Riverwalk in Pueblo just before Will hopped up on his horse for the Baraat. It’s all here!
