Happiness. I’m feeling it all over. And meeting up with Emily and Ross for their Colorado Mountain Engagement Photo session has nearly everything to do with it. The mountains. A spring night. Green grass. Blue sky. A beautiful couple. Love. (A new camera (Sony A7RII) and some new lenses (Batis 85 and 25)…)
The Broadmoor is just one of three properties in the state to receive four or five diamond status from AAA Colorado for forty straight years – so, yes, I love photographing weddings there! I had the pleasure of meeting up there recently with Stephanie and Samuel to photograph their Broadmoor engagement session, but we weren’t alone… Lola joined in on the fun as well!
There’s a little place up in Morrison, Colorado that holds a special place in Vanessa and Steve’s hearts, so we were determined to get these Red Rocks engagement photos! When we looked at the summer concert calendar there was only one evening open this whole summer – and of course a storm and tornado hit that night! It looked like it wasn’t meant to be, but then Nickelback cancelled their concert and so our second date was set. Of course, when we got there, the movie ‘Jaws’ was screening (rescheduled from yet another rain out). Fortunately, Red Rocks features many trails and rock formations which we were able to explore to our hearts content.
Tiffany and Alex were easy going, relaxed, and total ‘naturals’ in front of the camera when we recently walked around downtown Denver capturing their engagement photos. Their comfortable nature as they cuddled and laughed their way through the session made for a fun evening and some GREAT images! I also MUST tell you about ‘the second-highest form of flattery’…
It’s no secret that Colorado mountain weddings are epic and majestic, and I believe that Denver wedding photography and engagements are epic in their own way. I’m personally drawn to the ‘urban’ look and I may be biased, but I think our city here in Denver is pretty special. I recently met up with Morgan and Ben on a crisp Colorado morning to photograph their engagement session in Denver. It was my first time meeting Ben and second time meeting Morgan and the three of us had a great time starting the day off with a stroll around Riverfront park.
As Mona, Ajay, and I walked around for their Denver Art Museum engagement photos we got to know each other a little bit and realized that we know many of the same people. It’s always fun to make new connections and find that you have many friends in common! Mona is local to the Denver area and Ajay hails from Chicago. Their wedding is coming up later this fall and I know it will be fantastic!
I believe the first Indian couple I ever photographed was at their engagement photos at the Denver Botanic Gardens. Well, that was awhile ago! I’ve photographed so many Indian weddings and engagements now I’ve lost count. One that I remember clearly happened four years ago when I photographed Rupa and Jay’s beautiful Indian wedding in Denver. During that time I had the privilege of meeting and getting to know Avani, who also happens to be Rupa’s sister. We’ve kept in touch over the years and I’ve seen her at a number of Colorado weddings during that time. Well now, it’s HER TURN! I’m so thrilled to be photographing Avani’s wedding in Denver later this summer. But first…
Here’s the final 2013 favorites post – my favorite Denver Engagement Photos of 2013 (see also Candids and Portraits). This time, it’s a few of my favorite Denver Engagement Photos of 2013. Ok, so they’re not all from Denver, and a few aren’t even from Colorado. Yep, that’s Iceland and Idaho thrown into the mix as well! Can you figure out the destination wedding locations from looking at these photos? Engagement sessions are such a fun way for me to get to know couples before the big day arrives. And looking through this summary I notice a lot of kissing goes on at these sessions! I especially love the last one that shows a little tongue. 😉
Recently Maya and Rajnish and I got together to celebrate their upcoming wedding with an engagement session in Denver near the glass house and REI. Then a few days later I photographed their ‘Sangeet’. A few days after that, their ‘Chunni’ ceremony, and just last night I photographed their ‘Mendhi’. Tomorrow the big day finally arrives and I couldn’t be happier for Maya and Rajnish. They are sweet, kind, and so happy together! You’ll be seeing more of them on this site soon!
