Katie and Danny grew up just a few doors down from one another and are longtime sweethearts. They’re close. Their families are close. It’s an incredibly special and unique bond. Photographing their wedding at Holy Ghost Church in Denver, and their reception at the Ritz-Carlton in Denver, was a real joy and honor.
Almost exactly one year prior to the wedding I had the very fun opportunity to photograph their proposal when I hid inside the Tiffany’s store at the Cherry Creek mall, when Katie and Danny walked in to ‘look at rings’. A moment later, Danny was down on one knee and the family came out of their hiding spot and the celebration was under way! A few months ago we reconnected for their engagement photo session in the Cherry Creek area and one could tell that that same spirit of celebration and ‘sweetheart’ style love was still coursing through their veins – and I just couldn’t wait for the wedding day.
The day finally arrived and it was simply beautiful. Their faith is clearly important to them and was prominent in their day. I love the Holy Ghost Church in Denver with all it’s fantastic architecture and lights and marble floor. After the ceremony we were able to take our time getting some great photographs of Katie and Danny as we slowly walked back to the Ritz! Apologies to the bus driver who kept circling around thinking we’d eventually want a ride. Nope! It was just too much fun walking and talking and taking photos of this beautiful couple!
The wedding reception at the Ritz was also fantastic with Jake and DTP events getting the party going. Congrats you two! I know you’ve already got some years together under your belt – I pray you enjoy many, many more!
