Krystal and Chris were married on May 26th, with a ceremony at the Lakeside Terrace and a reception at the dining room of the Broadmoor.
I was particularly thrilled to be asked to do the photography for this wedding because Krystal has a degree in photography. It’s an amazing feeling to be so respected by your peers that they trust you with the big moments in their lives like this.
Of course, Krystal’s background in photography also meant that she was up for anything when it came to getting great pictures out of their big day. From the very start—while I was photographing Krystal getting ready and my second shooter, Adonye, was with Chris—I could tell Krystal was going to be amazing to work with.
And I wasn’t disappointed. While Krystal and Chris opted not to do a first look, I was able to get photographs with both of them ahead of the ceremony before we went around the property, getting as creative as we could with their photos.
These two also had an ability to shine in the big moments, like the first dance. Krystal exuded style and fashion, and I loved the feel of the images we were able to capture together. One of my favorite images came when we threw the veil over them, too.
The day also had a real “family” feel to it, especially given Krystal’s large family. I was particularly grateful to Krystal’s mom, Laurie, for everything she did. It really makes a difference when couples have families like these to not only give them love and support but to make sure everything runs smoothly.
Chris & Krystal, thank you for putting your trust in me. I know photography is very important to you, so it’s truly an honor that you love my work enough to select me to be part of the big day!
