Colorado Wedding on the Georgetown Loop Railroad
After photographing weddings in Colorado for 9 years now I start to think I may have seen every wedding location out there - and then, surprise! Along comes something completely unique! Later this year I will be photographing a wedding inside (yes, inside) the Denver clocktower and I know that will be a treat (a new site for me!). But last fall I had the wonderful experience of photographing Ashley and Dan's Colorado wedding on the Georgetown Loop Railroad. Yep. A wedding on a train!
Ashely started by getting ready at the top of the loop in the train museum while Dan and the guests waited at the station at the bottom. Then Ashley and her maid of honor rode the train down (along with both of the Santa Clauses who were having a preseason meeting!). When they unloaded, the ceremony began!
We had a great time afterwards capturing some beautiful portraits of the newlyweds in and around the train and then Ashley and Dan took off, along with all of their guests, for a trip around the Georgetown loop. Basically it was 'cocktail hour'... on a train!! It was so unique and fun. A bit cramped maybe, but definitely worth it!
Later in the evening all of their family and friends met up for the wedding reception at Blanc in Denver. I thought Blanc would be another new spot for me because it wasn't ringing a bell, so to speak. But when I arrived there I realized I'd been there plenty - back in the day it was a photography studio! Blanc has a great back patio area where we enjoyed taking some more nighttime portraits together.
One of the great parts for me about this wedding was the opportunity to work with Adam Bradley of Adam Fusion Films. He's been a videographer for awhile and doing wedding videos for two years or so I'd guess - and he's absolutely killing it! Seriously, one of the best in town! Make sure to check out his video of Ashley and Dan's wedding at the end!
Alright, enough with all the rambling on... Time to show you some photographs!
